Furlough scheme extended until April 2021

The Government has announced that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (furlough) will be extended until the end of April 2021. It had previously been due to finish at the end of March 2021.

Also, did you know that the rules changed about furlough and notice pay on 2nd December? Employers can no longer claim furlough for contractual or statutory notice periods. The liability now falls to the employer to pay 100% of notice pay for employees given notice.
